Adopt a Dinosaur
A whimsical rhyming picture book about why dinosaurs don't make good pets. The Dino Adoption Agency has eight prehistoric creatures seeking homes — Tyson the T-Rex, Vera the Velociraptor, Tracy the Triceratops, Brad the Brachiosaurus, Steggles the Stegosaurus, Dippie & Dot the Diplodocuses, Terry the Pteranodon, and Tank the Ankylosaurus — and each explains, in their own way, exactly why adoption might not be the best idea. A pronunciation guide is included.

Reviews
"Adopt a Dinosaur is a children's picture book by Andrew Abel. It introduces young readers to the Dinosaur Adoption Agency, a place where children can find their favorite prehistoric creatures. Each dinosaur featured in the book hopes to find a loving family, but the question remains whether they are suitable as pets with their sharp teeth, gigantic bodies, and destructive tendencies. The book features a range of dinosaurs, including Tyson the T-Rex, who is known for being scary and loud; Trike the Triceratops, who charges at everything and breaks toys; Vera the Velociraptor, who can eat other small pets, and many others. The book aims to provide fun insights into each dinosaur's unique features and characteristics."Doreen Chombu — Readers' Favorite
Author's Note
"My grandson took his small plastic dinosaurs everywhere with him, and wouldn't let them go! So I thought it would be fun to write a book about them. And it seemed a fun challenge to try to write a poem including dinosaur names! I'm guessing there aren't many poems about dinosaurs!"
